THE FACTS ABOUT YOUTH CRIME AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE CONTROL INITIATIVE

This is a Non-Governmental, non political and Non profit making organization that seeks to reduce crime and Substance abuse among the youth in Kenya.

As an idea, the organization was conceptualized on 21st June 2008  by John Onyango Omboto when a Kenyan Daily Newspaper boldly revealed an alarming increase in drugs and alcohol abuse by school going children some  as young as 13years. The formation was also informed by the constant press reports of young people involved in all sorts of crime.

Mr. Omboto has a wide range of experience in correctional services. He holds a masters in sociology-criminology and has special interest in training, counselling, and in attitude and behaviour change. All other members of the organisation are also proffesionals.

The application to register the organization was submitted to the authorities on 30th September, 2008 and the registration certificate handed over on 6th March 2009 after the organization met all the conditions for registration.
The work of the organisation is supported by volunteers and donations from governments, individuals, agencies, foundations and other Non-Governmental Organizations sympathetic to its mission.

To be involve in the reformation and rehabilitation of the young people already in crime and substance abuse.
