PLANS OF ACTION; OUR ACTIVITIES TOWARDS ALLEVIATING YOUTH CRIME AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE
1. Raise and mobilize funds from local and international governments, non-governmental organizations, foundations, individuals, and other organizations, and use the funds to achieve the specific objectives of this organization.
2. To engage in any form of peacefull activism that will meet the objective of the organization.
3. Carry out regular scientific research on the level of crime and substance abuse among the youth in various parts of the country so as to know how well to tackle them.
4. Employ experts, advisors and other staff for all or any of the objectives of the organization.
5. Acquire any moveable or immovable property and any buildings or things whatsoever and sell, dispose or Mortgage, lease or otherwise deal with all or any part of the property for rights of the Organization;
6. Work in conjunction with education officers in the said districts to reach the youths in schools and colleges in creation of awareness through drama and counseling.
7. To provide counselling services to the affected family members.
8. Train professional counselors to offer guidance to the youths in schools, colleges and penal institutions on the dangers of crime and substance abuse.
9. Sponsor activities such as sports, drama and entertainment programmes in the said districts that will enable the youth to spend their time responsibly; and undo idleness which is the root cause of youth crime and substance abuse
10. Pay school and college fees for deserving but poor youths; so that they do not become idle which may lead them to crime and substance abuse.
11. Where possible employ, seek or create employment opportunities for the deserving youth to enable them have a source of income, and spend their time responsibly
12. To provide any source of sustainable livelihood to the affected families to augment the rehabilitation of drug and substance abusers.
13. Hire experts to write plays and poems against crime and substance abuse, to be performed in schools and colleges during drama festivals as a tool of enlightment.
14. Sponsor traveling theater from local universities and other groups to go to schools, colleges and youth institutions in the proposed districts for performances that detail the dangers of crime and drug abuse.
15. Sponsor national comedians to perform plays against crime and substance abuse on national televisions and radios, and also sponsor advertisements that highlight the dangers of crime and substance abuse on national print media to discourage the youth from these vices.
16. Train and teach prison officers on the dangers of substance abuse so that they do the same to the youthful offenders in their custody, instead of smuggling drugs to prisoners in prison as media reports indicate.
17. Enter into any arrangement with any governments or authorities that may seem conducive to the Organization’s objectives or any of them, and to obtain from such government or authority any rights, privileges and concessions which the Organization may think desirable to obtain;
18. Take such steps by personal or written appeals, public meetings or otherwise as may from time to time be deemed expedient for the purpose of procuring contributions to the funds of the Organization in the form of donations, annual subscription or otherwise;
19. Apply to any governments or authority, public bodies, corporations, companies or persons for and to accept grants or gifts of money and or any moveable or immovable property, donations, gifts subscriptions and other assistance with a view to promoting the objectives of the Organization and, in taking of any gift or property to take the same subject to any special trust which may be prescribed by the donor thereof;
20. Establish an endowment fund to receive grants, donations, gifts and other assistance in any form whatsoever from Kenya or from any other source for any one or more of the objectives of the Organization and to establish non-profit-making foundation in any country or countries for the purpose of receiving donations from private and corporate persons and for channeling the same to the Organization’s operations;
21. Hire medical experts during performances and counseling to the youths in schools, colleges and penal institutions to address the dangers of substance abuse and crime from the experts’ view.
22. Facilitate reformed criminals and substance abusers to voluntarily take part in projects in which they would sensitize youths on the dangers of substance abuse and crime from their first hand experiences.
23. Hire legal experts to stress the legal implications attached to crime and drug abuse.
24. Source for funds to train youthful offenders discharged from prisons, on skills that can support them to curb recidivism: going back to crime for survival purposes.
25. Put up rehabilitation centres for drug addicts or support existing drug addict rehabilitation centres in the concerned geographical areas.
26. Train, post and maintain as permanent employees of this organization professional counselors in the said districts of operation who will consistently counsel the youth in the institutions and offer follow up services to released youths from prison.
27. Organize workshops to teach the general public on the dangers of crime and substance abuse, and on the signs that may help them identify a youth who is involved in crime and substance abuse, and to liaise with this non-governmental organization for assistance of such youth before it is late.
28. Open up regional co-ordination offices in the proposed districts with a few support staff to enable the organization realize its main objectives.
29. Promote or assist in the promotion of any organization or company or other body having objectives similar to those of the Organization;
30. Publish and distribute to the youths and general public literatures on the dangers of crime and substance abuse.
31. Identify national and international role models; the renounced individuals who can inspire the youth for having started from humble backgrounds but have achieved in life because they remained focused, and avoided crime and substance abuse, to give inspirational lectures to the youths in the institutions.
32. Invest the money in the organization not immediately required, in any one or more of the modes of investment of trust moneys or in such other manner as the Board of the Organization may from time to time determine provided that the outcome of such investments shall be generated back to the organization to achieve its objectives.
33. Do all such other things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of any of the above objects
